An endowment scholarship was established in Peter’s name at the UK College of Law, where he taught Trial Practice for 25 years - this has provided scholarships for over 25 students
He has won more than 50 multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements and presently concentrates on crashworthiness litigation. Peter frequently uses analogies, country music, proverbs and other similar methods to help tell the story to the jury
Received the President’s Award at the annual AIEG (lawyers specializing in crashworthiness cases) in 2009 and was recognized for his successful efforts to force General Motors and Chrysler to assume liability for all vehicles involved in collisions after bankruptcy
On May 5, 2010, Peter received the Henry T. Duncan Award from the Fayette County Bar Association at their 2010 Law Day Awards luncheon
Received the Tommy Malone Great American Eagle Award in 2010 from the Southern Trial Lawyers Association
Received the Champion of Justice Award in 2011 from the Civil Justice Association
In 2012, Pete was awarded the Leonard M. Ring, Champion of Justice Award – one of the nation’s highest legal honors – given to a person whose life and career epitomizes a true champion of justice

He has served on the Board of Trustees of the National Judicial College
In 2012, Pete received the “Compassionate Gladiator Award” from the Florida Justice Association.
In 2013, the Litigation Counsel of America established the Peter Perlman Service Award.
Also in 2013, the Kentucky Justice Association honored Pete as the first recipient of the Charles M. Leibson Lifetime Achievement Award.
In addition, he received the AIEG “Award of Excellence” in 2014.
In 2015, Pete was inducted into the University of Kentucky Hall of Distinguished Alumni, which pays tribute to those UK alumni who have distinguished themselves through their contribution to the Commonwealth and the nation.
